
Dr Matthew Murphy
Specialist Haematologist
Dr. Murphy is a Melbourne-trained haematologist with experience in laboratory and clinical haematology.
He has a special interest in malignant haematology, especially multiple myeloma and lymphoma. He also sees non-malignant haematologic disorders including DVT/PE, iron deficiency and abnormal blood counts.
His laboratory training enables him to seamlessly integrate advanced diagnostic techniques, including genomic testing into patient care.
Experience
Dr Murphy completed advanced training in clinical & laboratory haematology at various Melbourne hospitals including - Royal Melbourne Hospital / Peter Macallum Cancer Centre, Eastern Health and Northern Health.
He subsequently completed a clinical research fellowship at Alfred Health, predominantly focused on multiple myeloma. During this time, he was a sub-investigator on numerous clinical trials asessing novel treatments for myeloma & lymphoma.
He has public appointments at Eastern Health and Northern Health. He also treats patients privately at John Fawkner Hospital and Epworth Richmond.
